Welcome to Midlands Anglican, Tasmania
We are a Christian community encompassing the Evangelical Anglican Parish of the Midlands Tasmania. Whether you are new to the area or visiting you are most welcome.
Currently we have two active worship centres located in Campbell Town and Oatlands. Our services reflect both modern and traditional worship.
Our churches are situated in the townships along the Heritage Highway (the original Hobart to Launceston road) and have important heritage significance.
We are part of the Anglican Diocese of Tasmania.
We are actively upgrading both Churches in our Parish to cater for current and future generations. Renovations have been completed for St Peter’s Oatlands and a new Parish Centre is in the pipeline for St Luke’s Campbell Town.
We are also excited that a much-needed mixed Housing Development is being built by Loreto Community Housing on the vacant land behind the St. Luke’s Church and Cemetery in Campbell Town. Stage 1 of this project is now completed and Bishop Richard has Blessed the project on 12th September 2024.
Have you ever wondered what Christianity is about?
Is it a group of well-meaning people who meet in a beautiful stone building, who like to sing hymns together after they get up early on Sundays to worship?
Or is it a moral code that a person lives by?
The truth is, Christianity is not defined by any of these things.
Christianity is defined in the person of Jesus Christ.
Therefore, to understand Christianity, we must understand who Jesus is, what he has done for us, and why he has done it.
Christianity Explored is an 8-week course that allows you to explore the Who, the What, and the Why of Jesus, and to then understand what difference he makes for you in this life. Please follow the link below.

Christian discipleship is a term that many of us never hear, so it might behelpful to understand it from a biblical viewpoint.Well, what is discipleship according to the Bible? The word for "disciple" is bestunderstood to mean a person who learns from and who follows a masterteacher. In contrast to our current Western age, learning in Jesus' time wasvery personal and holistic. A disciple of Christ desires above all else to be like him..."Jesus said, "if anyone would come after me, let him deny himself, take up

Jesus said, "if anyone would come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow me" ([Luke 9:23, ESV]Dallas Willard, The Spirit of the Disciplines (San Francisco, CA: HarperCollins,1991), 271.
"He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver."(Malachi 3:3)This particular verse can be very puzzling for some people, and many have wondered what this statement means about the nature and character of God.We can all gain a better understanding of the nature and character of Godwhen we investigate the actual process of refining silver. If you watch a silversmith at work, you will notice that he holds a piece of silver over a very hot fire and lets it heat up. In the process of refining silver, the silversmith needs to hold the silver in the middle of the fire where the flames are hottest as to burn away all the impurities. We could think about God holding us in such a hot place and reconsider theverse. The verse that says: "He sits as a refiner and purifier of silver." In reality does the silversmith have to sit in front of the fire the whole time the silver is being refined? Not only does he have to sit there holding the silver, but he hasto keep his eyes on the silver the entire time it is in the fire. If the silver is left for a moment too long in the flames, it will be destroyed. If we asked the silversmith: "How do you know when the silver is fully refined?" He will answer and say, "Oh, that's easy - when I see my image in it."God has His eye on you and will keep watching you until He sees His image in you. Amen.
Every believer of Jesus is called to be a disciple and make disciples, and when a body of believers do so, it enhances the health of their local Church.
So, in the videos, you will find an explanation of what exactly discipleship and disciple-making is, and what it is not. Discipleship enhances the health of the Church because everyone can take part. This type of ownership within a group of believers can allow more people to focus on what truly matters: which is to know and obey Jesus. If the church's goal is to attract more people into a building, then we do not understand Jesus' commands. He commands all Christians to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost teaching them to obey everything he has commanded you.Free Courses!!
